خلال فترة دراستك لطب الاسنان سوف تواجه الكثير من الاختصارات التي قد تبدو غير مألوفه لك في بادئ الامر خصوصا لو كنت طالب او في بدايات تخصصك في دراسة طب الاسنان
يشار الى هذه الاختصارات بمصطلح ال dental acronyms و هي تختلف عن المصطلحات الطبية ال medical terminology حيث ان الثانية مختصة بتوضيح معاني اسماء الاجزاء الحية و الغير الحية في الجسم خصوصا ان اغلبها يعود لاصول لاتينية ، اما الاولى فنقصد بها الاختصارات المرتبطة بعلم طب الاسنان و مؤسساته الاكاديمية و البحثية .
